This is an improvisational piece where I manipulate the properties of 8 different sound files, namely their volume, pitch, and duration. I play the sound files together and alter them live. When played, they loop forever.
All 8 sounds files are recordings I made – from ambient walks around Providence, stream of consciousness narration, improvisations on different instruments, to recordings of my friends. These were recorded during periods of mental turmoil and isolation to moments of great connection and belonging.
